Background:

Wheatfield Primary School is situated in the north of Bradley Stoke and was opened in September 1998. The school grounds are attractive and indeed quite extensive. There is a sports field and two playgrounds surrounded by areas laid to grass and well planted with shrubs and trees. As well as the classrooms and administrative areas, the school also has a very large hall, with fitted physical education equipment, a growing library and several small groups, where children can be withdrawn for specialist teaching or to work at various activities including art and cookery. The school also has a large sports hall equipped with gym apparatus, whilst in the grounds there are facilities for outside games activities including two hard court playing areas, one being marked for netball and a field which can be marked out for football, rounders and athletics. The children usually visits several places of interest each year, often in connection with their topic work and have the opportunity to participate in residential activities in upper Key Stage 2. The school aims to create a purposeful working environment where all children are encouraged to be positive about their learning and take a pride in their achievements and quality of work.
