Background:
Elm Park Primary School was opened in 1961. The building is single-storey, with eleven classrooms set around an attractive courtyard, surrounded by extensive grounds. The school has landscaped hard play areas, grassed playing fields, a play park and a conservation area. Children at Elm Park are offered a wide variety of clubs and activities outside of normal school hours. Lunchtime clubs include: jewellery making, war hammer, bookshop, school magazine and chess. After school children can choose from: singing club, debating club, craft club, football, netball, computer club, girls' football, calligraphy, drama, gymnastics and multi-skills. A French club has just started for Key Stage 1 children run by a group of talented parents.
