Background:
Established in 1873 in a remote village in the northern Cotswalds, the school is housed in a Victorian building and two portables, with a large playground and access to the village sports field and hall. Sports include football, rugby, cricket, netball, rounders and athletics. The school is the Gloucestershire kwik cricket champion and county cross-country representative, and has received a Pathfinder award. Annual residential visits are organised to York, Isle of Wight and the South Cerney Outdoor Education centre. The over-subscribed school maintains 'excellent' links with the local church and villages, and a school association and school trust have been set up to raise funds. Children support UNICEF, Christmas boxes for Rwanda and Children Nationwide. A special support assistant and part-time teacher are avbailable to help children with special educational needs (SEN).
