Background:
Founded in 1851, the school is tucked away along a single track coach road at the end of the village, where it is surrounded by fields. It offers a 'wonderful environment' of playing fields, netball courts, picnic areas, climbing frame, trim track, conservation area, greenhouse and birdhide. There are three classes in total with a school hall and administration rooms. The main Victorian building is supplemented by two Elliot classrooms which house the Key Stage 2 children. In addition to the National Curriculum, the school offers after-school clubs in music, football, netball, out and about club and newspaper club. It encourages outside agencies such as theatre groups, dance companies, woodwind ensembles and the police to visit the school regularly.
