Background:
Manorbrook was built in the early 1970s and is one of a number of primary schools serving the town of Thornbury. Facilities include playground areas and playing fields with a conservation area including trees planted by the children. The school is separated into junior and infants buildings. Extra-curricular clubs include football, netball, chess, French, choir, country dancing, drama and orchestra. Recorder is available for all Key Stage 2 pupils. Instrumental tuition is offered in keyboards, flute, violin, percussion, guitar and trumpet. A school council with pupil representatives meets regularly and sponsors a child in Uganda. The school maintains strong links with parents and the community.
