Background:
Powell's Church of England Primary School is an aided Church school, with a long and proud tradition. The school roots go back to 1714 in the funding of the Blue School for boys, followed in 1722 by the Yellow School for Girls. The amalgamation of the two in 1876 saw the foundation of Powell's School. A wide range of extra-curricular activities are offered at lunchtime and after-school. These facilities include football, netball, art, dance, computer, history, drama and country dancing. The school aims to develop the mind, body and spirit of each child in a happy, safe and stimulating environment.
