Background:
The school dates back to 1837 since when it has been periodically modified to provide up-to-date educational accommodation. The main building houses four classrooms, school hall, kitchen, large technology and art room with a kiln, and Key Stage 1 library. The Key Stage 2 block also has four classrooms, a central resource area, technology room and 'very well stocked' library. Behind the school is a secluded playing field with conservation area, pond and quiet area. The school is 'extremely-well resourced and provides an excellent educational environment for learning'. Support staff are available to help children with special educational needs (SEN) aand a dedicated governor has special responsibility for SEN. Extra-curricular activities vary, and can include choir, orchestra, chess, art, gymnastics, football, netball, drama and story club. The school maintains 'very close' links with St Mary's Church and with schools in Italy and Germany. It has taken part in the local Eisteddfod and arts festival, in addition to supporting many local charities and events.
