Background:
The school was founded in 1954. It occupies a single-storey building situated in the north of Filton on the outskirts of Bristol, in a residential area and next door to a large tertiary college. It is set in extensive grounds with two hard surface play areas, a conservation area and a sports field. In addition to the National Curriculum, there are after-school clubs for sports, computers, science and art, among others. The successful choir recently won its first music festival. Pupils have the opportunity to take part in a residential visit to the Forest of Dean and there are several trips to places of interest during the year. Children are encouraged to raise money for a variety of charities such as the Poppy Appeal and Children in Need.
