Background:

Carrant Brook Junior School is a primary school for boys and girls. The age range of the pupils is seven to 11. Carrant Brook School was opened in September 1980. It was designed to cater for the educational needs of junior aged children and can accommodate a two-form of 240 pupils, with an admission number of 60. There are excellent teaching and learning facilities in the school, including a library and resource centre, computers in classes and a computer suite, extensive playing fields, a large gymnasium and assembly hall, and seven well equipped classrooms, all under one roof. A number of clubs and activities are organised by members of staff in their free time. A full range of clubs is offered to children over the school year. These can include: cross-country, choir, athletics, rounders, netball, cricket and country dancing. The school aims to provide every child with a quality education and to maximise individual potential in a happy, positive and stimulating learning environment where respect for others and self-discipline are strongly encouraged.
