Background:
The school'serves the community of Staple Hill, a north eastern suburb of Bristol six miles from the city centre, and most children come from the immediate vicinity. Built in 1967, the school is situated in a 'very attractive' environment within its own grounds which consist of a large grassed area and two hard playgrounds. Accommodation comprises seven classrooms, a hall/dining room, library, resource rooms, kitchen, staffroom and offices. The general state of repair and decor is good. A range of extra-curricular activities is offered by the staff who 'use their many talents for the benefit of the children'. The school has strong links with neighbouring schools and the local community, and benefots from a 'very active' parent staff and friends association.
