Background:
The small school has been situated in a 'large parkland facility' in the village of Painswick for 23 years and enjoys beautiful views to the village of Edge. Five-and-a-half acres of grounds house two playgrounds, a nature area with pond and shrubs and a large expanse of grass. A building extension in 1999 created new classrooms, offices and a hall/gymnasium. The school also boasts a heated learner swimming pool. The school provides Inter-school sporting competitions in football and netball. It also provides other extra-curricular activities including: athletics, French, Esperanto, country dancing, chess and a nature group. The active Parent-Teacher Association has recently raised funds for computer equipment, a climbing frame and reading books. The school aims to develop an interest in, and an understanding of, the environment in which they live.
