Background:
St Michael's Primary School serves the community of Stoke Gifford, a suburb of Bristol. It moved to its current new building in September 1988, when the old village school became too small. The buildings are single-storey and have disabled access. The grounds are extensive, including playgrounds and large field areas. It enjoys very good links with the local community, including Church and local businesses. Activities can depend on the current expertise and interests of those organising clubs as well as the time of year. The activities include are: choir, art, science, netball, cricket, football, hockey, handbells, school grounds, chess, Spanish and recorders. There are various opportunities through the year for all children to take part in performances and concerts, some of which are held in the school, and others in St Michael's Church. This is a caring, friendly school based on strong Christian Principles. It has high expectations from all its pupils.
