Background:

Leckhampton CE Primary is situated on the southern outskirts of Cheltenham, in a predominantly residential and semi-rural area. The school has 'good accommodation' with a dining hall, hall, music/drama room, libraries, and 14 classrooms. The 'spacious' playing fields provide facilities for sport and include a conservation area for scientific study. The school provides 'numerous' extra-curricular activities, including choir, recorder, guitar, orchestra, country dancing, hockey, football, netball, cricket, athletics and cross-country. With a 'thriving' school orchestra and choir, children annually represent the school in verse speaking, dance, drama and music at the Cheltenham Competitive Festival and 'regularly' entertain senior citizens clubs and local hospitals. The recently expanded its ICT department with wireless laptops, interactive whiteboards and connection to broadband. Children contribute to the school's website with articles, news, poetry and creative writing. The school also has links with Canadian and New Zealand schools.
