Background:
Frenchay CofE Primary School is housed in a listed building in the middle of Frenchay Common. It has a 'strong' music tradition with recorders, brass, guitar and woodwind all taught. There is also a chess club with a team in the South Gloucestershire league. Children over eight years old are taken on a residential activity holiday in alternate years. There are 'strong' links with the church and community and, while Christianity is seen as the 'bedrock on which the school is founded and the cultural heritage of the pupils', the school also respects the rights of all people to nurture their own faith and beliefs and welcomes the spiritual diversity which this brings.
